I’ve been looking for a place to go after taking an extended break from traditional social media. I was looking for communities with depth - less beholden to algorithmic recommendation culture. I’m looking for subcultures, new visions, and inspiration.

I’ve found that in Substack.

It’s not perfect, but it’s a far cry from the mindnumbing superscroll that can be other platforms. I am looking forward to supporting other writers and artists and hopefully building relationships that involve care and mutual learning. You should join me there!

Mother Ocean Lit will be the channel through which I birth all writing and art. The name came intuitively, in the quietest hour of the day, when it poked its head out of a memory of another piece of writing, where I referred to the ocean as my mother. It’s true, I didn’t want to leave her when I was first introduced.
